Residency in Casa Oficina António Carneiro, 2013
I was invited to do a residency for 3 months in a museum called Casa Oficina António Carneiro, which was the painter?s old house and studio. During this period I researched the painter, read his diaries, in an approach appropriate for a person who died in 1930, of the other sex, and who never conceived that video would appear.

In the two installations I proposed two different video installations, and one video projection

In Montar um vídeo I asked my mum, who likes to work with decoration, to help me decide how she would show a projection as if it were a painting. I insist that she is the one making the suggestions, as opposed to what happens in the other work, "Um filme", an essay film.

In "Sem título" I work with the display of video with those digital frames in mind. The glass of water can suggest another used for the flat surface of the screen, while also work- ing as a magnifying glass.

Um filme

16' 19'' Video PAL Video projection

Um filme was a short film in which I work with the space of the beach the painter would elect for his painting, and the space of the house, which nowadays is a little museum rarely visited by anyone. Throughout the 3 months I studied the routines and personalities of the personal, and their relation with the museum. There is also an attempt to understand the personality of the painter, through the reading of texts written about him (the first one), and his diary and his sonetos.
